Friendly people, relaxed networking, no pressure
Good business relationships begin with a conversation. That is what BNSL is all about: getting to know the people behind local businesses, sharing experience and building trust over time.
We keep things comfortable and friendly. The meeting has a simple structure so everyone gets a chance to take part, but the atmosphere is relaxed rather than strict or intimidating. There is no pressure to turn up with leads or referrals at every meeting, and you do not need a polished sales performance to fit in.
Whether networking is completely new to you or you have visited other groups before, you will be welcome. Bring your curiosity, tell us a little about what you do and let the conversations develop naturally.
What happens during the morning?
Knowing what to expect makes a first visit easier. Here is the shape of a BNSL meeting:
- A warm welcome and open networking: Introductions, coffee and the opportunity to start getting to know people and talk about what you each do.
- Breakfast. Settle in, enjoy an excellent breakfast and chat with the friendly people around you.
- A one-minute introduction from each person. Everyone has a minute to introduce themselves and their business to the group. Think of it as a friendly introduction: who you are, what you do and how you help your customers. A few simple notes are absolutely fine.
- A 10-minute member presentation. One of our members shares more about their business or area of expertise, giving everyone a better understanding of what they do.
- A short closing session. We finish by sharing testimonials, referrals and other group news and matters. It is a chance to recognise good work, make useful introductions and see how members support one another.
- Stick around and chat. You don’t have to rush off. Chat to the other members and visitors for a while. Listen for opportunities and organise follow up conversations.
There is a purpose to the morning, and plenty of warmth and good humour along the way.
