This week’s 10-minute presentation at BNSL was delivered by Mandy Grewal of MG Octana Consultants, who introduced members to her work as a Trade Mark and Brand Protection Consultant.
Mandy’s presentation focused on the importance of helping businesses protect what they have worked hard to build. With over 20 years’ experience helping businesses grow and develop, Mandy has built her career around creating strong relationships, supporting business growth, identifying new opportunities and helping business owners make informed decisions about their future.
A key theme throughout Mandy’s presentation was the value of trust. She explained that successful business relationships are not simply about making a quick sale, but about understanding people, building long-term connections and offering honest, personal guidance.
Mandy also shared her personal motivation behind the business. Her daughters are her biggest inspiration, encouraging her every day to work hard, build something meaningful and show that resilience can create opportunities.
Through MG Octana Consultants, Mandy helps business owners protect their brand, identity and reputation. This includes helping them understand their options, navigate the registration process and safeguard the business name, logo or brand identity they have invested time, money and energy into developing.
Mandy reminded members that a brand is one of the most valuable assets a business can own. After years of building a name, reputation and customer trust, it can be extremely damaging if another business copies or misuses that identity. Brand protection helps prevent that from happening and gives business owners greater peace of mind.
Her presentation also highlighted why networking matters. For Mandy, networking is about building genuine relationships, supporting other businesses, sharing knowledge, creating opportunities and growing together.
It was a clear and thoughtful presentation that encouraged members to think seriously about the value of their own business identity and the importance of protecting it properly.
