George Seward Sets Sail into Retirement 🚤
After years of dedication, insight, and steady leadership within the BNSL community, it’s time to wish a fond farewell (well… not quite farewell!) to George Seward as he steps back from full-time work and begins a well-earned retirement.
From Boardrooms to Boating 🚢
George has long been a valued member of BNSL, bringing not just his professional expertise from Corporate Mergers Ltd, but also his calm, considered approach and genuine support for fellow members. Whether it was offering advice, making introductions, or simply being a reassuring presence in the room, George has played a big part in what makes BNSL what it is today.
But now, the diary is clearing… and the canal map is opening.
A New Chapter on the Water 🌿
Retirement for George doesn’t mean slowing down — it just means changing pace.
He’ll be spending his time exploring England’s beautiful canal network aboard his narrowboat, the “Cherwell Force”. Swapping meetings for moorings and deadlines for drift, George is setting off on an adventure that many of us quietly dream about during a long Tuesday morning Zoom call.
From peaceful countryside stretches to historic canal towns, there’s no doubt George will be making the most of everything the waterways have to offer — at exactly the right speed.
A Proper BNSL Send-Off 🎩
Of course, BNSL couldn’t let George head off into retirement without a fitting send-off.
To mark the occasion, the group presented him with a captain’s hat embroidered with “Captain George” — a title we suspect will be taken very seriously once he’s at the helm of Cherwell Force. Alongside that, he was given a “best wishes on your retirement” card, signed with messages from across the group.
It was a small gesture, but a meaningful one — a reflection of the respect and appreciation George has earned during his time with BNSL.
Still Part of the BNSL Crew 🤝
While George is stepping down from full-time involvement in the group, he’s very much still part of the BNSL family. We’re sure we’ll see him drop in from time to time — possibly arriving with a few canal stories, a relaxed outlook, and maybe even a slight reluctance to return to dry land.
Wishing You Fair Winds, George
From everyone at BNSL, we’d like to say thank you for everything you’ve contributed over the years — and wish you all the very best for this next chapter.
Enjoy the freedom, the fresh air, and the slower pace of life.
And if you ever need a networking meeting with a better view… we’re sure a few of us wouldn’t mind joining you on board.
